Our Story
We met a little over three and a half years ago on that crazy new thing called the internet. I was in my second year of law school and Justin was (and still is) working for US Bank. We agreed to meet for drinks on a Saturday night and had such a good time that we decided to have dinner the next day, and again the day after that. It wasn't long before we were seeing each other just about every night. Both of us remarked on how easy this relationship was. Actually, it was easier to be together than apart: easier to cook meals for two, easier to find a shoulder to lean upon, easier to share our happiness.
On our two-year ten-month anniversary, Justin called and asked me to have lunch with him. My mother was coming into town for a visit that night, and we wouldn't have a chance to go on our usual date night. He picked me up and drove to a Indian Mounds Park located on a bluff overlooking the city of St. Paul. We had celebrated many a happy time there. Justin had just gotten a new camera and tripod, and he wanted to try taking some time pictures with the remote trigger. The city skyline would make a nice backdrop.
He set up the camera, and we stood together smiling. He clicked a few shots and then said he forgot something. He kneeled down to his camera bag by his feet and turned back towards me on one knee, ring box in hand. I was so surprised and excited that by the time he asked if I would marry him, I was already in tears. I'm pretty sure that I managed to say yes!
To make the moment just that much sweeter, Justin managed to catch a few photos of him on bended knee, mid-proposal.
We were married on October 3, 2009, and we couldn't be happier!
